Complaining about no wagon or a manual for the CTS-V. Go figure.

Kinja'd!!!

Clearly there wasn't a business case for it. Maybe if some of them actually put their money where their mouth is and bought a wagon, they'd have enough sales to justify one. Same goes for the manual, which in a car this luxurious that can hit 60 in 3.7 seconds with a transmission that supposedly shifts as fast as a PKD, why the hell would you want a stick?

But hey, at least there hasn't been any recall jokes made, maybe they finally finished beating that dead horse.

Like it how people beg for manual transmission everything, Yet couldn't even afford it when manual transmission when it's offered on what they're begging for.

Because manuals are more fun. Fast wagons are much more absurd. This isn't a car everyone will buy, so why cater to everyone's tastes? It's a niche car that should be sold to a niche crowd.

Dont care about the wagon.

Did they officially say no manual? GM is very good at offering manuals. I will be veeeerryy surprised if they dont. The SS sedan was auto only at first. But enough people wanted it that they started offering it.

Honestly, Id rather shift my own and be .2 seconds slower.

Manual would be nice, BMW sees a reason to sell just us the M5 with a stick. But the Wagon thing is stupid, they tried it and no one wrote checks. Blame yourselves jalopnik commenters for there being no wagon.

A coupe though should really happen, ala 6-series. The new CTS is only a year old so I still have hope.

A coupe would make sense. I see a lot of CTS coupes on the road.

The manual complaints would be a lot lower if they put in a double clutch transmission. A torque converter auto is not even close

It's a very perverse form of clique behavior in that they think that's what the Jalopnik zeitgeist calls for. Purity posturing, in other words... "I'm more Jalop than you because I scream more loudly for wagons". Thus proving that they have missed the mark of Jalop iconoclasm UTTERLY. It's okay to think that this or that car doesn't need a wagon or stick, in other words, they are unenlightened. It's like the passing out test of the Monks of Cool in the Discworld books:

He is taken into a room full of all types of clothing and asked: Yo, my son, which of these is the most stylish thing to wear? And the correct answer is: Hey, whatever I select.

I'm growing indifferent to manuals for everyday usage, but I believe ever car in this class should have a wagon option. I miss the old SRX (despite its odd proportions, it was the first CTS wagon) and don't feel the current "cutesy" SRX is anywhere near a substitute for a CTS wagon, even if it fits the bill on paper.

I don't get the point of wagons. I mean, I get it from a practicality standpoint, but I don't get why people fetishize them. They lack a proper ass end, frankly.

FP will always bitch and moan about manuals or the lack thereof. The automatic transmission should be completely nonexistent and every car ever should have a manual. Even minivans or Grand Marquis for octogenarians. All should be manual. All hail the manual. Hallelujah.

There was no business case for the original CTS-V to have a wagon or manual option either. They built them and sold them though.

Also, 0-60 in 3.7 seconds only matters on a track. In fact, shift speed only matters on a track. When you're driving through mountain roads going up and down through gears in your manual, the last thing on your mind will be "shit, my shifts aren't fast enough". I've talked to enough people at C&C to know that they want manuals, and they have the means to buy them.

If I'm going to borrow something from a book to make my point, I try to make sure it's epic like that.
